(Beyond (by Monda Saad Salem

She changed a lot. Another person she became,

One who only thinks about her hope and her aim.

It's difficult to find the real Her behind the cosmetics.

Then you'll whisper to yourself: "She's pathetic"

Beyond this charming smile, deep inside,

Lie moans of grief; trying their best to hide,

Trying to wipe some memories; sweet and bitter.

To overcome a heart a million times did shatter.

In a black dress, she buries deeply her sorrow.

Looking upon the path she is about to follow;

Tired of voices that resound in her head.

Sick of tears haven't dried yet on her bed.

Beyond those eyes and lashes, deeply black,

She craves for warmth that she does lack.

She holds for everyone who hurt her vengeance.

Revenge she seeks no matter the consequence.

An imprisoned heart, finally now she'll release...

"Dear, you've handled a lot of pain, Rest in peace.

Forgive me I've overloaded you but enough.

Honestly, you had too much. You were so tough."

Beyond this tanned skin, there are burnt veins,

Mountains falling inside and a storm that rains.

Beyond those polished nails claws, there are.

So never try to mess with her, or go too far

Beyond the high heels, ankles scared by broken glass,

For she was always deceived that she'd walk on grass.

Those hairs can be more harmful than Medusa's snakes.

But it's only that she protects herself whatever it takes.

Beyond the lips brightly glossed, there is dirt and mud,

Which was her only food mixed with her own blood.

She is a one unique tough lady, I can say and tell.

She used to re-stand alone after each time she fell.

She endured the whips of life on her delicate body.

She handled until it became severely sore and bloody.

At last she locked herself in a room unlike each fall,

Wiped away tears and blood, and painted herself all.
