Who can participate?
Participants starting age 16.
Contest terms & Conditions:
1. General poetry elements should be visible. (e.g. imagery, meter, rhythm, etc.)
2. The written verse can be in Arabic (Standard or Colloquial) or English.
3. Poem should be free of any spelling, grammar or formatting mistakes.
4. Poem mustn’t be taken or copied from any other source.
5. The poem should not have received any awards before.
6. Each participant can participate with only one work, otherwise he/she will be eliminated.
7. No particular theme is required.
In case the above terms are not met, the jury has the right to reject the submitted work.
How to apply:
1. Send your poem (as a MS-Word file), in addition to the complete personal data (full name, phone number, the title of the poem), to infobib@bibalex.org.
2. Then, fill in the registration form on the following web page:

It is necessary to use the same email for registration and for sending the poem.
When should I submit my poem?
From now till 15 March 2012.
What can I win?
For those participating in Arabic, there will be three prizes for the first three winners, in addition to ten certificates for the first ten winners. As for participants contributing in English, there will be one prize for the first winner and five certificates for the first five winners. Moreover, all eligible works will be published through the contest blog: http://bibalex-poetrycontest.blogspot.com
Winners from abroad will receive a certificate by mail.
The winners will be announced on Wednesday, 4th of April, in the Arabic Poetry Reading Session.
